KASTURI SRINIVASAN LIBRARY

Kasturi Srinivasan Library, a wing of the Triplicane Cultural Academy, was inagurated by Dr. Humayun Kabir in August 1960 in a humble way with a collection of 1600 books. Today we have more than 40000 books in English, Tamil & Sanskrit, etc. Our members borrowed nearly 36000 books last year.

Rajaji presiding over its Second Anniversary observed that Triplicane has preserved the name of Kasturi Srinivasan, then Editor, The Hindu, in a good way.

The Tamil Nadu Library Association’s Dr. S.R. Ranganathan Award for the Best Library for 2005 was given to us. The Raja Rammohan Rai Library Foundation appreciating the good work of the Library gave grants for purchase of books, furniture, computer, etc.

Women & CHildren constitute more than 50% of our membership. Students, Research scholars and those appearing for competitive exams greatly benefit by our book collection, newspapers and magazines.
